He is home!

Well, B has now been home 11 days. It's been an awesome 11 days! As you can imagine, we've been very busy enjoying being back together as a party of 4. But we've also been incredibly busy preparing for our move. The movers come in 11 days - I am not ready for them at all!

So, back to our homecoming...

I picked B up at the airport around 11:30pm and brought him back home. It was so exciting to finally see him, but oddly, it didn't feel as I expected. It kind of felt like he never even left! Of course, it was exciting though! He looked older and skinnier than I remembered. I was surprised to learn that he had lost 20 pounds since he left!

The next morning as we lay in bed, I heard C's door crack open. I popped my head up to see her sneak around the corner into our room (she knew he was going to be there when she woke up). She was giddily shy as she ran around to my side of the bed. I pulled her up and plopped her down between B and I where he then pulled her in for a tight hug. She was so happy to see him, but I think HE was the one who couldn't get enough of her, haha. He sure did miss his girl.

When we heard D start talking/fussing in his crib, I went in to get him as usual, but B followed behind me. D was so excited to see him that he began JUMPING up and down in his crib (holding onto to front rail). It was so cute. D was SO HAPPY!

We had a great morning of hanging out around the house and eating one of B's favorite breakfasts, cinnamon rolls. Then we ran into town to hit up some stores B hasn't see in quite a while, haha. One of the stops was at Dick's to get C her very first set of real golf clubs. B was so excited to come home and teach C to play golf, so we bought her an adorable little set :-)
We ate at restaurants and just enjoyed each other's company. It was a wonderful long weekend before the start of a very busy week for B. He began out-processing at the same time that he had to in-process from this deployment. It has all been rather confusing, haha! But super exciting!

Oh, and we have gotten a few good laughs about some of the things we've forgotten...like I forgot which side of the bed was really mine - I guess sleeping in the middle for 8 months made me completely forget where I belonged. And he fed the dog "lunch" in the middle of the day. But Darby doesn't get lunch. She only eats twice a day, haha. Some things are just funny!
